Happy New Year and welcome to my blog! I’ve been contemplating the idea of keeping a blog for a few months now and, having convinced myself it would be a good thing to do (see below), I thought what better time to start than the first day of the New Year! Why keep a blog? Here’s my thinking;
1) There are so many people that I don’t keep in touch with anywhere near as much as I would like (you could be one of them!). I think posting on this blog will be a good way for people to catch up with me in between me making time to catch up with them.
2) “Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.” [Ferris Buller, 1986]. Fin is growing up so fast; the last 17 months have been a blur! Posting here will be a great way to chart the next 17 months and beyond. As well as being a personal record, this blog will be a convenient place for friends and family to catch up with the little man; we’re often asked how Fin is doing and for the latest photos!
3) I’m keen to create and share more photos and videos and make the most of my Flickr and YouTube accounts. I think this blog will be a great way to bring everything together in one place.
4) I think a blog could be a good way to share things I find on the Internet without spamming peoples inboxes!
5) I confess; I’m a bit of a geek! I wanted to see if I could integrate blog functionality into my website! 
This blog is written using WordPress and integrated into my website using some JavaScript I found here.
I don’t intend to post every day but do visit once in a while to see what’s new!
